For Lent this year, I’m planning to read through Anne Catherine Emmerich’s book, The Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ (affiliate link). This book has been recommended to me multiple times throughout the years and I’ve never read it! To help keep me on track, I broke up the chapters and made myself another reading calendar. Sharing my plan below in case it’s helpful for someone else someday:
P.S. There’s an error in the calendar above – it’s supposed to be Wednesday, March 31!

Hi Ashley! Hopping over from Rosie’s link-up. I’m so glad I discovered your blog! I’ll have to check back in and see how you end up liking this book, it looks intriguing. 🙂

So happy to meet you, Trinity! I’ll definitely be back with a review after Easter.

This looks so great! I have not been on the ball with my spiritual reading… I never finished my book for last Lent!
Ashley says
I’ve been trying to make spiritual reading a habit, but it’s hard! What did you read last Lent? Maybe you could just pick up where you left off!

That looks like perfect reading material for Lent. One of my reading goals for 2021 is to read a spiritual book each month — last month I read Hope to Die by Scott Hahn and Emily Stimpson Chapman, which would also make a great Lenten read! I will add this to my list.

I really enjoy Scott Hahn’s books, but haven’t read Hope to Die yet. I’ll have to add it to my list. Thanks for the recommendation!
